I have asthma.
Clean air is very important to me.
In any apartment, especially in older buildings like ours, there’s a risk of mold, especially during the winter.
And for someone with asthma, mold is a serious issue.
That’s why we asked to have our apartment ozonated.
Following the recommendations, we opened everything we could – interior doors, closets, and sofas.
During the treatment, we went to visit friends and took our cat with us.
The treatment lasted about 4–5 hours, including the required airing afterward.
As a result, all unpleasant odors disappeared, including the smell from the cat’s litter box.
It became much easier to breathe.
At home, I even stopped using my inhaler.
(Though for the first day or so, the ozone smell was still noticeable).

I moved into a new apartment.

We did ozone treatment in the apartment — thank you to our dear friends who explained to us what it even is.
First of all, ALL unpleasant smells disappeared: the musty smell that I personally noticed after the winter (while no one else in my family seemed to, which was a reason for some gaslighting); the smell of cigarettes; and most importantly, the smell of our crazy cat, who expresses his displeasure in a very nasty way — all gone.
Secondly, the mold that tends to appear in some spots — no matter how much bleach we use — seems to have stopped growing. I'm curious to see how long the effect will last. Maybe it’s a good idea to ozonate the apartment before winter, to avoid the kind of mold outbreak we had this year.
Of course, I’m relying on my own very subjective feelings, but personally, I found it easier to breathe (especially loved the smell in the first couple of days). Even my allergy calmed down for about a week after the treatment, although it did flare up again later. Overall, the apartment felt like it had been refreshed by a clean breeze 😊

A small observation (possibly unscientific): one of our houseplants, which wasn’t even in the room during the treatment, started growing like crazy afterward — it shot up 20 cm in just two weeks.

We moved to a new neighborhood in the city. The previous tenants in our new apartment had cats.
